New Year, New Me!

I know, I know, new year's resolutions are so overrated! I don't usually do them but I decided I will have one this year. I really want to work on getting my pre-pregnancy body back. I know it's been only two months since I had baby Z but this is really important to me. I feel like if I get my body confidence back, I will feel so much happier. I also want to start working out again since I always feel more energized when I do.

But, with two kids, I know finding the time to work out is going to be a challenge. So I will start with the easy to do one. My favorite plank workout. I have tried doing "plank-a-day" challenge before and it did help toned my tummy. Hopefully this time, it will help too!

Birmingham Zoo Outing

What's the best way to relax and have fun after all the Christmas craziness? You go visit the zoo, of course! Thanks to Baby Dylan's big sister and big brother, he was finally able to visit Birmingham Zoo. Luckily, it was warm enough to go places. He said he saw a lot of "amimals" and he rode the "choo-choo" train too. They even got him some stuff from the souvenir shop there. But the one that stood out was his little toy train. He also got a toy tiger mask and a Birmingham Zoo shirt. Baby Zoey got one too!

Christmas 2015

Happy Holidays! Merry Christmas! Often times, the real reason for the celebration is overshadowed by the lavish gifts and festivities. This year, we are celebrating simply with just a few gifts for the kids. We will just have a simple dinner, just the four of us. I really could not ask for anything more since my family is all the gift that I want and need.

Chase Freedom Rewards

I confess, I really love to shop online! I think it's very convenient and economical. Just think, you don't have to spend money on gas because you don't have to go to different places looking for something you need. Plus you don't have to deal with the crowd. You can just sit in front of your computer, click and done and just wait when your order gets delivered. I also find the best deals, sales and promos online since it's so easy to compare prices from competing stores.

But what I love the most is getting rewarded for my shopping activities. Yes, it's more shopping money to spend. That's why I love our Chase Freedom because I can redeem points into so many different gift cards. Compared to Discover Card, Chase Freedom got more gift cards to choose from. For my latest gift card redemption, I chose to redeem Amazon gift cards. Thanks to Chase Freedom Rewards, I have $125 to spend buying more Christmas presents!

Christmas-Themed Nail Art

Christmas is just around the corner! I'm feeling festive and inspired to do my nails. It's been a while since I painted my nails and I think it's time they get glammed for the holidays. Shown above are three of my favorite Christmas-inspired nail arts.

DIY Baby Headband Oranizer

Oh, the things you would do for your kids! When I learned Baby Z is a "girl", I went a little crazy with the idea of dressing a baby girl up. I know I will be buying cute pink floral outfits with headbands and bows to match. Speaking of headbands and bows, I have been all over Etsy looking for cute stuff. Of course, I will need a place to put them too. So, I asked Hubby to make me one. He was going to do it from scratch but then he remembered seeing these cute cabinets in the clearance section at Hobby Lobby. He had the vision  of making it work and because these cabinets are less than $4 each, I approved his plan. LOL! He then attached those wooden pegs strategically, then painted them in a shade of pink that I chose. I think it turned out great!

Kmart Fashion Finds

I'm not a big Kmart shopper but I do love to check them out from time to time.I usually perused their clearance items and more often than not, I find really great deals on different kind of stuff. One time I was able to score a really nice purse that I gave to my Mom. I also scored a few outfits for my toddler boy and shoes to go with it.

But this time, I scored something for myself. Can you believe I got these camo flats for only $3.99? Yes, I did! I have always like anything camo so when I saw this pair I immediately bought them. They are comfy and lightweight, just perfect for everyday wear.

Hoop Embroidery

Introducing my so-called  "masterpiece" in hoop embroidery. Like I promised, I did an intricate hoop embroidery piece. I actually did this while I was still pregnant with Baby Z.I spent those hard-to-sleep nights doing my needlework. But being huge and uncomfortable did not help in finishing this masterpiece faster. I think I finish after about a month! It was tedious and time-consuming and a killer to my fingers. LOL! Thankfully, it turned out pretty good! I may have to work and improve my color selections but for now I am happy with my embroidery masterpiece.

My Meal Prepping Faves

Ever since I discovered the many benefits of meal prepping, I was hooked! Health-wise, meal prepping is definitely a great thing. I mean, you can have portion control on what you eat. You can eat healthier since everything's already prep. The temptation to eat anything on sight is lessened too. I'm not a picky eater but I'm not an adventurous eater either.

So I settle for meals that I know I will enjoy eating for 3-4 days in a row. But at the same time, I try to make them as healthy as possible. One of my favorite is lean ground beef with black beans. Then I will have brown rice or baked sweet potato for my carbs. For my vegetables, my go-to are broccoli, cauliflower, green beans, and carrots. I also love to fix chicken breast fillets and salmon fillets. I sometimes just bake them or grill them. Meal prepping has helped me shed a few pounds, and it saves me time cooking too.

Target Finds

I don't normally shop online at Target since they had that security breach. I have been afraid to use my credit card, even my Paypal with them. When we do shop in store, we always pay cash. One thing that we regularly buy at Target is the Babyganics products since we can't find them anywhere else. But I bought something else when I was given a Target gift card. I got these very cute but functional Merona satchel purse and a new pair of ballet flats. Both items are in clearance so I did not pay much for them. I do love to score great fashion deals when I can.

Beginner Embroidery

Thanks to my Instagram browsing, I got inspired to do hoop embroidery. I don't have any background or any slight knowledge of embroidery. But I thought it looked simple and I can just give it a try. Of course, I have to find a super simple design I can make and start from there. Good thing Hubby is so supportive and took me to Hobby Lobby to get some supplies.

I found this simple "You are loved" design online and decided to make it. I'm planning to hang this above Baby Z's crib. Since I have no experience doing embroidery, I found it challenging and time-consuming at first. Then I got the hang of it. This is just a simple one but I'm planning to make a more elaborate design next time.
