MAX RELAX Camping Hammock

I admit, I'm not really a camping enthusiast but I have always enjoyed spending time outdoors. I also have a great love for hammocks ever since I was a kid. I think hammocks are relaxing but also a very versatile gear to have. When I was given the opportunity to try MAX RELAX Camping Hammock, I sure took it. I know it will come in handy since I will be spending a lot of time outdoors now that spring is here. And what a great way to spend outdoors than hanging and relaxing in a hammock while listening to the birds chirping.

When I got my MAX RELAX Camping Hammock, I was impressed at how compact and portable it is. I love the attached storage pouch that makes it so much easier to carry and stow this hammock. Plus you can store knick-knacks (like your phone & keys) in it while you're swinging away. I also love the ultralight parachute material that it's made of. It may be light-weight but it is definitely strong with triple stitching. I also love how the material conforms to the body while you're in it, making it so comfortable. Not to forget, it comes with  two super strong tree ropes and two solid metal carabiners. Overall, I can say that I am happy with my new MAX RELAX hammock. I think it's perfect for hiking, camping, or just relaxing in your own backyard which what I am planning to use it for!

Lovin' My WearMe Pro Sunglasses

When it comes to sunglasses, I always look for one that is functional yet fashionable. My newest WearMe Pro Mirrored Lens Fashion Designer Sunglasses is definitely functional and fashionable. I love that it looks and feels sturdy and definitely not flimsy. Its hand polished frame is durable and well-made. Its mirrored lens offers 100% protection against harmful UVA/UVB ray. This also comes with a microfiber cloth/drawstring carrying bag to protect it from scratches when you are not wearing it. Its plastic frame and plastic lens are lightweight yet they are very sturdy. It fits me perfectly and I can wear them comfortably. Although this is different from my usual aviator style sunglasses, I love that it is uniquely designed. I think it is very trendy but very affordable too. You don't have to pay a lot of money to get a designer-inspired sunglasses that makes you look good wearing it while protecting your eyes too. With its excellent craftsmanship and stylish design, I know I will be wearing these sunnies a lot. That being said, I think you should grab one too! Get them on Amazon for only $12.99!

My Musician Friends

I love music and I can say it accompanies me and helps me a lot. I wish I can be a musician and create my own music someday. Thankfully, I have a lot of musician friends who share their music to me. I do know a lot about creating music and the work involve in it. I also know that one needs high quality musical instruments. My friends get theirs from musician's friend shop. One of these days, I plan to get my very own bass guitar and learn to play it beautifully.

Fisher-Price Rainforest Jumperoo

Ah, the magical power of the Jumperoo! We got this Fisher-Price Rainforest Jumperoo when Dylan was five months old. If I remember it right, we paid $50 something for this four years ago. Dylan really loved jumping in here and it always kept him entertained. He would also fall asleep in this thing so many times. It's like it's got sleepy dust in it.

Of course, I was so excited to let Baby Zoey use it once she's big enough. Now at four months old, we put her in it for the first time. Her legs are chubbier than Dylan's but she still got plenty of room in it. It did not take her long enough to get the hang of it. And as you can see with their side-by-side photos, both of my babies love the jumperoo. I must say, we are getting our money's worth in this one. It's very sturdy and it does help develop babies leg muscles and head control. It's very entertaining too with the musical toys attached in it. I would recommend this to parents everywhere!

Best Bottom Cloth Diapers

After about five months of using cloth diapers, I can finally say that Best Bottom cloth diapers are the best for me! I actually bought them while I was still pregnant with Baby Z. So what do I like about these diapers? First of all, I love that they are so easy and convenient to use. Once the insert is wet, just un-snap it, wipe is with a wet wipe and snap on a new one. They don't need washing every time they get peed on. I usually use each cover 3-4 or until they kind of stink before I wash them. I also love the organic hemp inserts that dries off and cleans easily. The only thing that I dislike about Best Bottom diapers is how the inserts kind of twist and lose its shape after how many washing. But other than that, I am very happy and satisfied with them.

Hongkong-Style Egg Tarts

So, I was scrolling through my Facebook feed when I saw this video by BuzzFeed Tasty showing how easy it is to make Hongkong-Style Egg Tarts. I love egg tarts but I did not know how easy they are to make until I saw that video. Of course, I had to try the recipe. And with the help of that video, I made my first dozen of Hongkong-Style Egg Tarts. I am addicted to these egg tarts now! So I am sharing the recipe here in my blog to share to you all.

 Hongkong-Style Egg Tart Recipe

Yield: Making 16 egg tarts of a tart pan

For the custard filling
• 4 medium eggs, beaten (reserve 2 tablespoons for your pastry dough)
• 3/4 cup hot water
• 6 tbsp. sugar
• 1/8 teaspoon salt (pinch of salt)
• 1/4 cup evaporated milk
• Dash of vanilla (optional)
For the pastry dough
• 2 cups cake flour, plus extra for dusting
• 1 stick unsalted butter, room temperature
• 1/4 cup powdered sugar
• 2 tablespoons of beaten egg
• 1/8 teaspoon salt
• Dash of vanilla (optional)

• Pre-heat the oven to 400˚F / 200˚C
Make custard filling
• Melt sugar and salt with hot water. Mix until dissolved then let cool.
• Whisk eggs and then take 2 tablespoons out for the pastry dough. Stir in sugar water and also evaporated milk (if adding vanilla, add now). Stir and combine everything well.
• Strain the filling to ensure no lumps. Chill in the refrigerator while you make your pastry.
Making the pastry
• In a large bowl, sift flour, sugar and salt. Then add softened butter. Bring the mixture together with your hands, careful not to knead the pastry dough too much or you will make the pastry tough.
• Add the 2 tablespoons of reserved beaten egg and bring together until smooth. If the dough is too sticky, coating your hands with flour will help. Cover with plastic wrap and then refrigerate for 30 minutes, or until the dough is firm.
• Take the dough out and divide into 16 equal portions. Spray the tart pan with a light coating of oil. Take one portion of your dough and roll it into a ball and place in your tart shell. Press the shell into the pan with your fingers. Try to make the wrapper uniform in thickness and avoid a thick bottom. Repeat to finish all.
Baking the egg tart.
• Pour the custard filling to the shells until it is about 80% full. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes until the surface becomes golden brown and a toothpick can stand in the egg tart.
• Cool down for several minutes and then take the egg tarts out of the pan. Serve while still warm.

Grovia Hybrid Cloth Diapers

When it comes to cloth diapers,  I must say that Grovia Hybrid Cloth Diapers are my second favorite (after Best Bottom) among my cloth diaper stash. One thing that I really like about them is their fun, bright colors. I love how they fit and that they don't leak at all. I think the Velcro closure is great. The Velcro wash tabs are efficient in preventing them from sticking together while washing. As for the inserts, I am happy with the organic bamboo inserts EXCEPT the fact that they takes a long time to dry. Plus, they are bulkier than the Best Bottom inserts. The Grovia diapers are smaller compared to best bottom even though both says they would fit babies from 8-35 lbs. Baby Z is on the bigger side so I guess I will see till when these will fit her.

LaZBoy Furniture

When it comes to furniture, we pretty much have everything we need. But with my second pregnancy, I felt like I need another rocking/reclining chair. And when it comes to those things, LaZBoy is always the place to be. During my first pregnancy, we did get one from them. This time around, we decided to get another one from them again. This time around, we are going to put the new one in our masters bedroom. The other one sits in our living room.

Can you believe we got the same style in almost the same color? Yes, we did because we really loved the first one and finding the same/similar style is like hitting the jackpot. These rocker/recliners are well-made and very comfy. The only difference this time is the price. This time, the one we got was like $50 more. But, it's worth every dollar since LaZBoy furniture are really good and we are very satisfied with them.

Pinto Thai-Chelsea, Alabama

I admit, I was never a fan of Thai foods until Pinto Thai opened in Chelsea, Alabama. It is just a few miles away from our house. I was still pregnant with Baby Z when they first opened and Hubby would get something to-go for me. I still remember my first ever meal from Pinto Thai was their Chicken Satay. It was really good plus their homemade sweet and sour sauce was fantastic. I also love their Sweet Sticky w/ Mango. A must-have and a must try dessert! My other favorites include Sweet & Sour Pork, Beef Broccoli, and, Soft Shell Crabs.

If you ever feel like eating Thai foods, you should check out Pinto Thai! They offer delicious Thai foods and a variety of sushi too. I'm glad they are just down the road from us and I can get my Thai food fix whenever I want to.

My DIY Baby Wrap

(W/ Baby Z @ 4 Months Old)

I'm not much of a DIYer but when I want something I'm not willing to pay for, I usually just try to make that something myself. If I can, I want so spend as less as possible being a cheapskate that I am. So that applies with this mama must-have; the baby wrap. I know before I had Baby Z that I will definitely need one to get some things done. I know having two free hands will definitely help with an active toddler and a needy infant. So I searched and searched online for the cheapest baby wrap I can get but the one I found is still too expensive for me at $40 something.

That's when I decided I will try to make my own baby wrap. After doing some research and watching YouTube videos about DIY baby wraps, I finally bought the fabric I needed to make one. I found this striped jersey knit fabric on sale at I bought 5 and a half yards of it. Since my DIY baby wrap is the no-sew version, all I did was cut my fabric in half and voila, I got two baby wraps! The fabric I bought cost me about $25 so each baby wrap is actually less than $13. It works pretty good and Baby Z loves it! That's a win-win situation right there!

Pocket Cloth Diapers

When I got pregnant with my second baby, I decided I will try to use cloth diapers. It took me a long time to purchase my first batch of cloth diapers because I have to do a lot to research first. I have no idea what kind to get and how many I should get. I read so many reviews, watched so many YouTube reviews and even tutorials on how how use various types of cloth diapers.

I chose to buy 3 different brands of pocket cloth diapers just too see which one will work. I bought the Diaper Rite, Nicki's Diapers, and, Imagine Baby brand. All came with inserts so it is kind of economical and they are the affordable kinds too. I love their pretty colorful prints. I love that they clean up pretty good and dries up pretty good too. But, I hate the stuffing part! I think it's time-consuming! I have used these pocket diapers for quite a while now and I have had a few "leakage" situation with them. When Baby Z have a blow out or when she pees on top of her poop, it will be a big mess! In all honesty, I would say pocket cloth diapers are not my favorite!
