When it comes to music, I often joke that I love music but music does not love me. Hubby, on the other hand, is a talented musician. In fact, he used to be in a jazz band. No wonder his older kids are also very talented when it comes to music-making and singing. I am hoping my kids will be like them too. I think I will get Dylan his first guitar really soon. That is why I am browsing and doing my own research at guitar center website to see what I can find that is perfect for him. His birthday is coming so it could be his birthday gift.

Time flies so fast! My son's 5th birthday is almost here. I can't believe how fast he's grown and how fast he turned into a loving and responsible big brother to Baby Z. For his birthday, he asked for a specific birthday cake; a tractor cake! I hope I can deliver! LOL! Anyways, I already have the design and the idea on how to make it. I just hope I turns out great. For that cake, I would need a few different icing colors. Good thing I found this Wilton Icing Color Set with 12 different colors. Each color is only a 0.5 oz but I'm sure it will go a long way since it is in gel form. Compared to the regular food coloring, this gel form is not supposed to thin out the icing. I hope it will work out the way I need it to be. Wish me luck!

Since I decided I'm going to let my hair grow longer, I am also getting frustrated that it is not growing fast enough. And when that happens, I usually, and impulsively chop them all off. But this time, I will try my very best not to do that considering the patience I have to muster just to grow out my last pixie haircut. It took me a whole year without going to the hair salon just to get to this length (shoulder length). Since I really want to achieve my hair length goal, I decided to try taking supplement that will help me with that. I have read reviews before deciding to try this brand of hair, skin, and nails supplement. Now let's see if it really works! For my sake, I hope it does!

One of the perks of building a house is the freedom to choose whatever you want to do when it comes to every little details of the house. My boy Dylan was very happy that he was able to have a say on what color to paint for his own bedroom. Of course, it has to be BLUE. I did not know that there are so many shades of blue but I finally choose Benjamin Moore's Honolulu Blue for him. It turned out pretty nice because it's not too dark and it made the room bright. As for Baby Zoey's room, I chose Benjamin Moore's Pink Petals. I also decided to buy wall decals for each of their bedrooms. Dylan's was all boy with a rocket ship decal while Zoey's is a traditional pink princess decal. Hubby was not a fan of "stickers" as he call them but both kids love them!

One thing that I was not able to do in our old place was take long walks with the kids. There is really nowhere to walks around and see nature except when you go to the park. Our subdivision did not have a very big park either. Here in the farm, we have a big place to roam and walk around with lots of interesting things to see like animal tracks and such. But we have to deal with weeds, tall grass, and mud since we only have a graveled road. So a rain/muck boots is a must-have when walking around the farm or even when going to get the mail especially when it's raining. Thankfully, Hubby got me a pair from Academy Sports. It's an Austin Trading Co. brand with signature Real Tree Camo design and priced at $24.99. I think it is a great buy and it works pretty well. It's not heavy and it is comfy to wear and walk around with.

I have to confess, I am really having a hard time getting back to my pre-pregnancy clothes and weight. I am currently wearing size 1 jeans and they seem tight to me. I dread going size 2 or 3 cause that would mean I am really gaining a lot of weight (most of it is in my belly!). So I have two choices; I have to stop eating so much or I have to start working out again. LOL! Working out seems easier than limiting/depriving myself so I am determined to get back to exercising. I brought out my trusty Ab Rocket and started using it again. At least 5 minutes a day for starters combined with a 5-minute plank and 5-minute cardio workout. By next month I am planing to start meal prepping again. Hopefully, with healthier eating and regular exercise, I can get to my goal weight soon.

Yay, I just got a new cake decorating turntable. It is a Sunny Side Up Bakery brand (Hobby Lobby brand). It may not be a pro and high-end one but this is just perfect for a beginner like me. It works and I can't wait to use it for my next cake decorating project. This one is only made of plastic but it seems well made. The $12.99 price is also reasonable. On a side note, I also got two new decorating/piping tips that I will also use for my next cake project. I am slowly collecting different kinds of piping tips so I can come up with new and prettier cakes in the future.

When it comes to my hair, I always go to the extremes! No in-betweens! I either go really short (pixie cut), or really long like waist-length. For the past 2 years, I sported pixie haircut since it is very convenient and easy to manage. And I did not have a lot of time take care of my hair last year since I just had my baby girl. It's hard to believe that I survived one whole year without chopping my hair. The last time I saw my hairstylist was January of last year. Now my hair is past that awkward "just touching my shoulder" length. I am actually planning to let it grow longer to about waist length. Hopefully I can make it to that. I also want to make sure I take the right steps to achieving my hair goal. Aside from trying to eat healthier, I am planning to take vitamins that will help me get long, healthy hair. We will see if I can have the hair just like in the picture by next year.

New age, new skill learned! So I turned 35 two days ago and I'm really starting to feel old. LOL! I'm not a fan of big celebrations so I just prepared a simple Filipino meal for my little family. Since it's my birthday, I cooked the foods that I want to eat. I made Filipino stir-fried noodles, Filipino spring rolls, a simple fruit salad, and, I baked and decorated my own birthday cake! For years, Hubby's been buying my birthday cakes at Publix and/or Edgar's Bakery. Then last year, I started to get interested in learning to bake and decorate cakes. Thanks to Instagram and YouTube, I learned how to make "decent and presentable" cakes. This one is my best and prettiest so far. Not bad, I think!

Ever since I dared to cut my boy's hair, I have grown more confident doing it. The fact that he trusts me to do it is a great thing too. Thanks to Hubby for buying a Wahl kit, I can now cut Dylan's hair by myself and save a few dollars. Hubby thinks I'm doing great cutting it and Dylan thinks his haircut is "stylish". Good thing he's got thick, curly hair which is hard to mess up. I still have to fine tune my tapering skills though. But for a Mama who does not have any hair cutting background, I think I'm doing great. Next thing I need to learn is to cut/trim my little girl's hair. But I still have plenty of time before I have to do that. Thanks goodness!

I may not be big fan of New year's resolutions but I do recognize the fact that a new year is indeed a good time to start something new, something great. Of course, one of the most common "new year's resolution" is losing weight and eating healthy, right? As far as I know. So I am jumping on the bandwagon and starting my own fitness resolution. My goal is to lose a few pounds (at least 5 pounds) and get rid of my belly bulge that I had since having my second baby 14 months ago. I'm not aiming to be skinny, I just want to fit back to my size 0/ size 1 pre-pregnancy clothes.
Aside from working out, I started drinking my honey-lemon-green tea every morning, and lemon water through out the day. I hope this will help me achieve my fitness goal. As for my 28-day fitness challenge, I am currently on the 5th day since I started the 2nd of January. I still have a long way to go and I hope I will stay motivated to finish. Wish me luck!

One of the drawbacks of moving out in the countryside is being without the big city perks we used to enjoy. In our case, it is our Charter unlimited internet/wi-fi that we missed. Since we moved in our new house, we went about a month without internet and cable. Even AT&T does not service our area!LOL! Fortunately, we found Verizon does. So we switched our cell phones and internet to them. Hubby was a T-Mobile user since forever but when we moved to our new house in our farm, he found out that T-Mobile got a very weak signal. He had to go around the house looking for signal.
The good thing is, Verizon Wireless 4GLTE solved that problem. The bad thing is our internet is not unlimited anymore. Hubby decided to get the XXL Plan( $110) with 24GB a month plus free 2GB for my smartphone (Samsung Galaxy J3 priced @ $168.00). Which is a good thing since we got it for free with our plan and since we switched. Hubby could have got a free smartphone but he wants to stick to a flip phone (LG Revere priced @ $49.99) so he had to pay for that. The free smartphone I got is only FREE after we get refund every billing cycle. Overall, I am just happy that we switched to Verizon even though I now have to watch our internet usage. We actually have Verizon Wireless for about a month now and I don't have any complains when it comes to internet speed and cell phone signal. So far, so good!

When it comes to musical instruments, I admit I don't know much about them. I do know and recognize the common ones and know what they can do, basically. But when you want to know the minute details, I'm not the person to ask. LOL! Did you know there are different types of guitars? I know there is the acoustic guitar and the electric guitar. I also know that there is a lead guitar and a bass guitar. But that's about all I know. One little secret I want to share; I have always dreamed of learning to play bass guitar. Maybe someday I will.

To be perfectly honest, I'm not a fan of new year's resolutions. I mean, I think if you really need to change and start something great, any day is a good to start, right? Of course, I always have new goals for this new year, especially with us just moving to our new place. I am praying for good health first and foremost. I am also planning to do more blogging this year and maybe start a new farm blog. It will be nice to share our farming adventure soon. I'm actually excited for spring to come so I can start with all the gardening I have in mind. Plus, I'm looking forward to getting the dogs that I have been wishing to have, two German Shepherds, I hope! Anyway, good health and happiness to all this 2017!
